In the male-dominated world of mining, Nadine Miller has emerged as one of its brightest shining stars.
If you could choose a person with a profession you’d think you could have a fascinating conversation with, it’s not likely that a mining engineer would be at the top of your list. That is, until you speak with Nadine Miller, who is the founder and CEO of Tinkerer Borg, an AgeTech start-up whose flagship product, OurNightingale.com, is designed to help seniors age in place, thereby prolonging the need to transition into independent or assisted living facilities. Nightingale is based in Austin, Texas. Miller is an engaging young wife and mother with a personality as sparkly and bright as the precious minerals she has mined, driven by a fascination with diamonds and tiaras.
“Diamonds are my favourite and I’ve always loved them since I was a little girl — anything that sparkles, I gravitate toward,” says Miller laughing, during a recent interview with Dolce Magazine. “I like sparkly dresses, I like sparkly this and sparkly that, and I always wear tiaras. I want to be a princess all the time. I am openly and delusionally royal. I always have tiaras — it’s just a thing that I do,” she says. “The best thing about jewelry is when you can buy yourself your own jewelry. A lot of women wait for diamonds, but educated women acquire diamonds.”
